The New Moon Project

 

Dear Friends,

I've got little project to tell you about.

Ever since Hallel, my daughter was small, I've read to her at night. The choices for Jewish feminist books for young children are slim. So, I wrote one myself about Rosh Hodesh, the New Moon. I tried for many years to get it published and have a folder full of rejection letters. So I'm doing it myself.

I have found a wonderful illustrator, Yosefa, Gypsy Jill Greenberg, and she has created the cover art so you can get a glimpse of what the whole book will look like.

There are 15 more pictures in the story to be painted. I'm asking you be a part of this project to help raise the money for publication by sponsoring a picture or at least making a donation. If you contribute $54 or more, you will receive a print of the cover page. It's a win-win situation! You support the arts, Judaism, feminism AND children How can you resist? The donations are tax-deductible and should be made out to New Legends.

Each print is $54, and each original is $1000. You can contact me directly to read the story and pick a picture you'd like to sponsor. As well, I am, of course accepting patrons who want to give more and you will be listed in the book.
